This site is dedicated to the Ard family and my extended relatives. My primary research focus is the lineage of Reuben Ard, Sr who was born in Anson, North Carolina in 1769 and settled in Wayne County, Kentucky around 1800 with his brothers James McHenry, Jacob and John Ard, before moving on to Missouri just before 1830. He and his wife, Elizabeth, are buried in a little family cemetery on Little Buffoalo Road south of Stover, Missouri.
I will, also, be including other related information. Along with the descendants of Reuben''s three sons who remained and grew their families in Wayne and Pulaski Counties, some of the other surnames I''ve researched and included in this site, so far, include Johnson, Roberts, Carender, and Dobbs. These all settled in the Cumberland River valley of Pulaski, Russell, McCreary and Wayne Counties. You can browse my ancestors and relatives
here.
My mission is to have this site be the home of the most comprehensive store of information on
The Ards. I won''t be able to accomplish this by myself, and therefore welcome any comments, relevant information, or tidbits of trivia that you might have and would like to share!
Please, make yourself at home, pour yourself a cup of coffee, and start browsing my site. Check frequently, as I hope to continually add content and make this site both enjoyable and informative.
If you have any questions, comments, corrections or experience any problems with this site, you may contact me
here.
At your service,
Roger Ard
